Oregon 55-403 Aluminum 2 Line Trimmer Head Review

I have used this head for years on my Shindawa trimmer. I have a wooded lot with a steep slope with lots of weeds and saplings. This head with the heavy flexiblade trimmer line works well on anything from heavy tall grass to woody weeds like mullien, to service berry volunteers. It also works on gravelly areas without throwing too many rocks. (It still throws a few so one is well advised to use a logging helmet with mask and ear protection and long sleeves and pants.) It has been durable considering the circumstances. I would say I have gone through 3 heads in 10+ years. You need to be sure that the dome is screwed on tightly or it will get lost. It still works without the dome, but better with it. So if you are looking for an easy operating head for heavier work, this is the one. Occasionally you need needle nose pliers to pull out severed line.
