I looked at all the trimmers and the Tanaka's were getting consistently highest reviews. I could not find this one on Tanaka's site so I emailed seller and they responded right away that it was not listed there, but Tanaka did not list all models on their site. They did assure me it had the full 7yr warranty.

Looking at Husqvarna and the Hitachi this one has a bigger motor and for the price it was a deal. I have an acre that my current Greenworks 40V trimmer is not keeping up with so I didnt want a something borderline, I was looking for a trimmer that would do the job.

I figured I would give it a try.

It arrived quickly, I ordered it Monday night and it came Thursday, in fact a day ahead of FedEx estimate. Box was in good condition and and my 15 yr old son and I put it together in about 10 min. It was mostly assembled all we had to do was put on the string head and handle. It was getting dark and we wanted to give it a try so we used the pre-mixed gas from my echo chain saw. I know the gas was old, over 6 months, and wrong mixture but the trimmer started up quickly and we tried to do some trimming but it would cut out at higher rpm and did not have much power. I only mention this part because another reviewer said their unit did not run well.

The next morning I bought fresh gas and we made the correct 50:1 mixture and it fired right up. I used it for about 6 hrs Saturday getting the lawn edging caught up. My son used it as did my wife. She is 115 lb and had no problem starting it herself. It fires up 1st or 2nd pull when cold and 1st pull every time when warm and idles fine. Power is great, line feeding works as is should. I went through 2 tanks of gas and had to refill the trimmer line and never so much as a missed beat.

I used it again Sunday for a while with the same experience.

So far the trimmer has been an A+. So much easier to start than any trimmer I have owned, idles and plenty of power. And unlike my Greenworks the line feeds as it should.

This is a really nice power tool and compliments my John Deer X320 lawn tractor as great way to keep my home looking nice.

Its still early but at this point I am very happy with the trimmer and definitely glad I bought it.
