Stens 605-687 Air Filter Replaces Stihl 1123 120 1613 Review

First off the design that Stihl uses for the filter mount is awful to say the least. Their filter design does not seal around the base of the carburetor to keep all the dirt out. Other models of Stihl chainsaws use a flat filter with a rubber gasket to create a proper seal. That being said, this filter works as well as OEM for half the price. I've started to use a little Vaseline around the base of the filter before snapping it into place and others have suggested using electrical tape. I can only hope that a reputable company like Stihl changes their design and will someday have a retrofit available to properly seal the air intake.
