Murray 37x80MA Motion Drive for Lawn Mowers Review

The belt (Murray 37x80MA Motion Drive for Lawn Mowers) was a perfect fit on my 1996 Murray 42" Riding Mower (Model 42918X8A). The original belt lasted 17 years and still had some life it in, but since I was replacing the deck belt (Murray 42 Lawn Mower Blade Belt '90-'96 37X75MA) I decided to replace the drive belt too.

I had to remove the deck to get to the motion drive belt but I didn't realize it until I had put the deck back on after replacing the deck belt. After I pulled the deck off a second time, and since I was in pure genius mode, I got the great notion that it would be much simplier to just tip the mower on its side to replace the belt rather than put the mower up on ramps. Guess what happens to the engine oil when you tip the mower on its side? Oops. I didn't see the three foot pool of oil that poured out of my air filter until I was done changing the drive belt and tipped the mower back down. Half of the air filter was completely soaked with oil.

Fortunately Amazon had the air filter for my mower too (Briggs & Stratton 5052K Air Filter Cartridge/Pre-Cleaner 12.5 - 20 HP)
