Overstockwheels has a practice of saving money by cramming tires into boxes much smaller than the tires. The tires I received must have been mechanically deformed while still hot after manufacturing. I'm sure they save money by forcing the tires into a box much smaller than the tire, but these deformed wheels come in a triangular shape, smashed in width too, and to accomplish this, the tires are deformed with large dimples in the tread area where they are smashed inward. This has to done in some kind of mechanical machine right after manufacturing.

So what is the problem, well once you get the tire onto the rim, you can't get the bead anywhere near where it will begin to set and seal, so you can't fill the tire with air. I have a huge compressor with over 175 lb air, and even using a ratchet strap around the tire it was impossible to get it to inflate. I had to heat the tires with a torch until they were too hot to touch, pull the beads apart and let them cool down while being pulled apart. Only then could I get the tires to begin to seal and pop onto the rims. I still had to use a ratchet strap around the center of the tire to force the beads onto the rims. It took hours just to get two of these mounted. What a frustrating experience.

I know UPS charges by dimensions as well as weight, but I will never buy tire that have had this sort of treatment again. It was way too much effort to get them to mount. Shame on Overstockwheels. Ridiculous!

Once mounted they seem fine, but who would want to go through this kind of effort to mount lawn mower tires!
