I relly like this edger. I went from a gas powered "stick" type edger to this, and it is a night and day differance.
This is very easy to control, works great, starts easy and is very well made.

I had not heard of the company (Southland) before I bought this edger, so did a lot of poking around the web. They seemed to have a good rep, so I went ahead and ordered it. Very glad I did.

I could not find parts for it (I wanted a replacement blade), but an email I sent to the company got replied to in an hour, with the part number and where to but it.
Very good customer service.

Overall, I like the depth of cut, the bevel feature, the "curb hopping wheels" and just about everything else.
A very happy customer - highly recommended.

Husqvarna 54 16-Inch Push Reel Lawn Mower Review

After looking across the landscape of reel mowers - I decided on the Husqvarna 54 and was not disappointed. A reel mower is a simple product and Husqvarna has stayed true to concept by designing a mower setup that only requires 2 nut/bolt pairs and a nestle of the handle to the frame. The packaging was also a exercise in simplicity as well, just a small box roughly the dimensions of the base.

Performance of the mower out of the box without further adjustment exceeded my expectations. My lawn was seriously overgrown, spring really sprang a surprise on us here in Minnesota by coming a month early. But the 54 was eager to the task. The first pass did not get bogged down easily, and even at slower rotations, it persevered pleasingly. With a few extra touch-up passes on rough spots, the lawn was looking well thatched in minutes. Time will tell how well the blades maintain their bite, of course. But, compared to previous reel mowers I've used, this machine is a step-up. I had not considered gas-powered mowers, figuring that I could get the grass trimmed just as well but avoid maintenance costs and noise/air pollution - the results so far do nothing to make me second-guess that approach. Others have mentioned the pleasant side-effect of getting a little light exercise in - I don't disagree, it's kind of win-win situation all around unless your yard is closer to riding mower dimensions.

I had considered higher end models like the amazing looking reel mower from Fiskars (Momentum 6201) - these are probably more suitable for a larger lawn. And I could see that product pushing the boundaries of what people will deem suitable for a reel. But - for a normal city lot like mine (42' x128'), I can't see needing more than this. It's incredibly light, easy to maneuver and the tread is small enough to really get great results. Combo this with a decent trimmer, and you should be set.
