Briggs & Stratton 796475 Cylinder Head Gasket Review

Engine starts fine, idles OK with no flow, but seems to be overloaded when trigger is pulled and the spray starts. It does spray at reduced pressure for a while but seems to overload and stall after a few minutes. I found if I repeatedly pull the trigger rapidly I can keep it going, but if i keep the trigger on, motor will slow down and stall. Motor seems ok but does spew an oil mist some times when starting.

Finally found the problem and solution. The head gasket on the motor was blown. Probably due to one of the 4 head bolts was loose. Motor could run with a light load, but with a crack blown thru the head gasket, the motor stalled when under load because it couldn't generate enough compression. This explains the oil mist I mentioned seeing some times when starting. Unfortunately before discovering this I bought a new pump ($177) - now have an expensive "spare". Anyway replacing the $5.30 head gasket was easy, and it's working good again.
