Tanaka TBC-260PFL Extended Reach Trimmer / Brush Cutter Review

I am 6'4" tall and have always been disappointed with the lack of reach from the run of the mill trimmers. I purchased Tanaka TBC-260 PFL trimmer from CPO Outlets for about $350 and Tanaka had a $30 mail-in rebate at the time. This trimmer is made in Japan. The quality from head to toe is outstanding. Tanaka's Pure Fire engine starts with a couple pulls, runs smooth, revs quickly and is easy on fuel. I use the trimmer for residential/farm and light commercial work. It has good power but could use a bit more. The padded handle is a nice feature to help reduce vibration and fatigue. Tanaka also has a 7-year consumer warranty and a lifetime warranty on their solid steel drive shafts. Last but not least, the REACH on this trimmer is incredible! If you are taller and have always been bent over while using a trimmer, not anymore! The shaft on the TBC-260PFL is 11" longer than a standard straight shaft trimmer. Having the extra reach is also nice when using the brushcutter attachment. The only negative thing I can say about Tanaka is that their instruction/owner manuals suck! They do have good costumer service though. If you have been searching for a long reach trimmer with exceptional quality and performance look no more! Highly Recommend!

Entire flower beds and even large planters can be worked without the effort of hand-tilling, and the compact size of this attachment allows it to get into corners a full-size tiller couldn't go.There is plenty of torque to go through pretty compacted soil. I bought these Duro Turf tires for my SXS.. a Kawasaki Teryx 750. i looked high and low for specs on these tires (weight/load rating), could not find anything. They are only in 2 or 4ply so i was hesitant in buying them for a 1,000lb plus vehicle. Well short end of it all, they hold up well and have had no problems. We have even put a few thousand lbs of weight behind them.. and no problems. Have towed around heavy duty 16ft car trailers and still no worry of hurting these tires. Oh and they also really do help the grass, previous tire tore it up in a hurry..

OK. It does what it's supposed to do BUT it only tills about 4 inches deep on the first pass, you can go deeper if you pass again. If you area is very rocky like mine, this tiller won't last long. I did a small area today and it did fine. If I do a larger rocky area, this tiller would struggle, maybe even break. I only had 2 dig out 1 rock today stuck between the tines and the wheel and I thought I would break the tiller after the first day. Overall great for small gardens with not alot of rocks

I read warnings on other sites about aftermarket caps but this one actually is better than the original for my weedeater. It fits perfect, I tipped the weedeater upside down and no leaks. The reason I say it is better is the grip. It is a small cap and the original cap had smoother edges which made it harder to get a good grip on especially after a few years. This one has much better edges making it easier to refuel. The price was better than an original as well. Shipped on time and arrived quickly.
